Karen Cruz is the Office Coordinator and Assistant to the Executive Director at HACIA. Karen is responsible for managing office operations and facilitating key tasks and procedures. In Karen’s role, Karen will be your initial contact with HACIA; she will equip you with information on any questions you may have, as well as connect you to the necessary HACIA staff.
While on the journey to HACIA, Karen developed her public speaking and negotiation skills as a salesperson. She enjoyed and prospered in the sales environment, but was looking for something more meaningful, hence her transition to HACIA. Karen was drawn to HACIA because she wanted to support those who work in construction like her father. Karen is also passionate about aiding HACIA staff and supporting their mental and emotional wellbeing. At HACIA, Karen is part of the Social Health and Wellness Team, which is tasked with developing innovative ways to positively impact HACIA’s working environment.
When she is not working, Karen likes to listen to podcasts, spend time with loved ones, or play puzzles with her doggo Ash, a German Shepherd, Husky, and Pitbull mix. Fun fact: Language learning is important to Karen, she is continuously looking for ways to learn and practice Mandarin Chinese and American Sign Language.
